PHAKOS since its founding
Founded in 1993 by Olivier Aumaitre and based in Montreuil, PHAKOS initially grew by distributing high-performance devices designed for ophthalmic surgery.
The company then expanded its expertise into manufacturing, with a clear goal: to provide practitioners with reliable, innovative products tailored to the demands of their specialty.
At PHAKOS, product development and manufacturing are driven by a constant search for innovative medical materials for use in ophthalmic surgery.
Our goal is to improve the effectiveness of surgical instruments and to support the evolution of microsurgery, a field that is constantly advancing, driven by major technical breakthroughs.
Special attention is paid to quality at every stage: development, manufacturing, packaging, and sterilization.
Both our distribution and manufacturing partners are carefully selected and meet the applicable quality standards in their respective fields.
The Early Days of PHAKOS
Founded in 1993 by Olivier Aumaitre and based in Montreuil, Phakos set out to distribute high-performance ophthalmic surgical devices.
Manufacturing Division
The manufacture of ophthalmic medical devices began following the acquisition of OEIL’AD in January 2003.
Packaging facility
Since January 2016, PHAKOS has had a new packaging facility located at its headquarters in Montreuil.
